Adoration or obsession.

As per Merriam Webster:
Adore means: to feel or show great affection and devotion.
Obsession means: a persistent disturbing preoccupation with an often unreasonable idea or feeling.
So there’s a fine line between adoration and obsession. One doesn’t realize when adoration turns to a full time obsession.
I personally feel that when one is obsessed with something or someone, it’s out of their control. One doesn’t start feeling this strongly over night or knowingly. It happens without one’s realization and it hits hard.

Adoration on the other hand is when you feel strongly about someone but there’s a certain amount of respect and reverence associated with that feeling.

When does this adoration turn to obsession?
If math were to come into this situation, this is what it would look like.
Adoration - Respect = Obsession.
When the person thinks that the object of their adoration is theirs and only theirs that’s when it turns to obsession. But one forgets that nothing or no one is for theirs to keep. We all came empty handed and we will leave similarly too. How easy is it to forget this one simple fact of life? My answer is, it’s very easy.

Often being so wound up in life’s mumbo jumbo, we forget what we came with and what we will take back. Which is nothing. But we do leave behind a legacy. A legacy that one’s people will remember for some time to come.

Back again

After a long hiatus away from the Blogosphere, I’ve finally decided to give it a go again.
My head usually swims with a gazillion ideas and thoughts. It’s like it never shuts off. I’m so thankful to my dedicated set of girlfriends who very patiently listen to my every little rant and rambling. Now what they do after that is something that I’m completely unaware of. I’m secretly hoping they don’t shut me out completely. Now that would be hilarious.
Imagine me trying to talk as always and they say, shuddduupppp! And I make a puppy face and they go fine get on with it. Then I start over.
Yeah point being that ain’t gonna ever happen. I’ll always talk and they don’t have a choice. And I’d like to believe they know it. We like to keep the expectations clear, this group!
So anyhooooodles, since I’ve decided to not torture my girlfriends as much with my yakety yak I’ll be blogging a lot more than before. Which means now I will be asking if they read this new post a million times!
Good times! Adios for now and keep coming back for more.
The heart is at an uncertain unrest.
Is it me or is it my emotions wrecking havoc in my mind?
I feel a turmoil in my head.
I feel a storm brewing, a wild nasty storm.
I need an outlet.
I am on an emotional roller-coaster.
I am a disaster waiting to happen.
I need some peace time, some me time.
I need to sort out my agitated head.
I need to make truce with myself.
I need to find peace within myself.
I am driving myself insane.
I hope I don't give up.
I love my life, I want to live my life.
All these emotions are not helping me.
I dont want to be the carrier of all these sentiments.
I want me back.
I cannot live being this immature person I'm not familiar with.
I don't know who she is and I do not want to entertain her any further.
I am not me.
I am being someone I don't know, someone I loathe.
I will not let that someone rule me and my life.
This is my life and I want my life back.
I want my peace back.
I want my personality back.
I want me back to the way I was.
I've changed and not for the good.
I've become a hotheaded and snotty person.
I know that is not me.
I detest that snobbish girl staring at me  from the mirror every morning.
I've become a bitch.
I will change myself, for the better.
I will redeem myself, for everyone around me.
I will bring my old self back, for my family.
I will be me, so when I die, I will be missed.
I am me.

Bang bang or fizzle pop?

When I got back to blogging I thought my mind would explode with things to say, but looks like that ain't gonna happen. I am always so full of ideas, but now why do I feel that putting those thoughts on paper has become a humongous task? I do want to write, rant, and be crazily verbose. Now if only my hands will follow suit.

So apart from my thoughts on whether to go bang bang or fizzle out, here's just one pick from my brain……….... Coconut water.
I was reading a blog post(which was recommended by a friend of mine) about where bottled or canned coconut water is sourced from and which ones are the real deal. Well by the end of the post I was extremely well informed about the different processes that go into making it and then shipping to various parts of the world and also how we as humans have a knack to complicate something as simple as procuring a coconut.
This made me think, isn't that right also when it comes to relationships? We have an extraordinary ability to convolute relations just because in most cases our ego gets the better of us. Its a wonder we still continue to evolve despite all the obscurity. How hard is it to patch up with someone without getting the big E in the way, how hard is it to pick up the phone and make a call just to say Hi? But no, that would mean bowing down and accepting defeat isn't it? Well, if you see it from a glass is half full point of view, the person who makes that call is infact the greater one, with more sense and life experiences. So doesn't that make you a winner i.e. if you are still keeping score!

Think about it. Life doesn't have to be complicated, its as simple as you want it to be.

The choice is made, the verdict is here

The news was out last week.........Archie Andrews proposes Veronica Lodge.
Many people, had issues with that, saying that Archie was ruthless and that he should've chosen Betty Cooper instead , etc etc....
But me? I was happy and not the least surprised, well it always seemed so obvious, that AA was totally smitten by VL. Why then would one assume that he would choose BC over VL? Moreover, VL has a better package to offer, and in this present day, anyone will opt for VL.

Moreover, I always liked Ms.Lodge and thought very highly of her. Sure she is shallow and boastful and of the brat type, but hey she's got the works going for her man, why shouldn't she use it? Atleast she is being honest about her fabulousness right!

Betty reminds me of Devdas, always sad and constantly hoping but never wins (well occasionally she does though, but only as second choice). The Betty types are too hypocritical and personally methinks they are just too tough to deal with. And I mean no offense btw.

Ultimately, what I mean to say is that I'm glad Archie chose Veronica and I'm sure they'll live happily ever after. The only sad part about this though is that, the comic will end (sobbing continuously!). I love the Archies collection, I always get them, I grew up reading them and never missed an issue back then (now it's a different story though). My comic reading will never be the same again.

So what do you think about Archie proposing Veronica and not Betty? Tell me more.

A healthy tip

I hope you guys haven't missed me while I was MIA! Well, I was a bit out of the blogging mood, so that kinda kept me away from Viva la Vida. Now, I've even lost track of my thoughts....

Ok, so according to the Food Detectives, the amount of water a person needs on a daily basis is.............here's the equation:
Your weight / 2 (your weight divided by 2) = water required in ounces, to maintain a healthy system and skin.
So what they say about an average person requiring about 8 glasses of water a day is true, because ultimately (unless you are underweight or over), the DV of water is somewhere between 55 - 70 oz.

Do some good to yourself and drink up that pure, clear liquid.......WATER!

Edited to add: weight in pounds(lbs) / 2 = water required in oz.......all units in US system

Two fabulous girls and a weekend!

TGIF! yup, my thoughts since I woke up this morning in the wee hours (well, not really, unless you are like me, then yes 6:30 am is still midnight), messing with my head!
Added to that (today being Friday and then the long weekend, I mean), walk into office someone calls you a young lady( YAY, I'm still young according to one person *heart jumps with joy*, and i tell him, he's one of my fave person's from today), and another compliments me on how I look today (well, he says I am a pretty thing! yeah, well let's just say thanks!), and waiting for my sis to visit us tomorrow for the long weekend! Yes, life's great!

I haven't awaited anyone else's arrival more than her's in recent times, I'm so glad she's coming over. It's always fun to be around family, isn't it? I wish my other sis also could make it! :( we'll miss ya!

As for the planning, we haven't yet planned much, coz it all depends on how co-operative the weather is, either way am sure we'll have tres chic fun ( we have some ideas for both indoor and outdoorsy stuff todo). and this time, I don't have to worry about me losing any more hair than I already have (stress of planning and all ya know!)

So, let's welcome my sis, the long wknd with her and lots of fun time (blame it on the a a a a a alcohol)(you didn't hear that from me), and o yeah not to mention the young and beautiful me( I think, this will stick around with me for a while now, esp the young part) ! hehehehe

Have a fabulous long weekend y'all and tell me what are your plans?
I leave you with one of my all time fave songs, Rafi sahab couldn't have done it better, and Shashi Kapoor couldn't have acted better (OMG he's my fave)......love is in the air, or more precisely, love is in the Kashmiri air!!

Sometimes it gets you!

I don't know why but this song has been on my mind for a while now. Something about it is just so appealing.
Is it the slow and steady beat, or is it the way it's sung, or is it the rendition on the whole?
Is it coz the sorrow is expressed so clearly yet so subtle and understated without being all dramatic?
or is it the singer..........who has this roughness in his voice, which is just so fresh and lethargically romantic in his own way?
I'm not able to decide, help me ..............what is it about this song that refuses to get out of my mind? Is it just me or do you also think this song is all over you?

Apology accepted Google!

This is your pilot speaking. Now, about that holding pattern...

Imagine if you were trying to fly from New York to San Francisco, but your plane was routed through an airport in Asia. And a bunch of other planes were sent that way too, so your flight was backed up and your journey took much longer than expected. That's basically what happened to some of our users today for about an hour, starting at 7:48 am Pacific time.

An error in one of our systems caused us to direct some of our web traffic through Asia, which created a traffic jam. As a result, about 14% of our users experienced slow services or even interruptions. We've been working hard to make our services ultrafast and "always on," so it's especially embarrassing when a glitch like this one happens. We're very sorry that it happened, and you can be sure that we'll be working even harder to make sure that a similar problem won't happen again. All planes are back on schedule now.

Shoes n me

I'm lurving these Louboutin pumps ........why you ask?
Coz, they are insanely ridiculously spelled out in LOVE! Would be interesting to wear with my LBD I guess.

My fascination with shoes of all kinds will never end I guess. As they say, you can take the girl away from shoes, but you can't keep the shoes away from the girl! Oh ok, spoiler, don't go rolling your eyes now! Even I'm not sure what I meant there, but whatever you got the point right?

Anyways, tell  me what do you think, insanely ridiculous or ridiculously delicious?

I don't know what I did ..............

I absolutely have no clue as to what am I going to blog about today, but nevertheless I will go ahead with whatever random things I can think of.

Let's start off with my my fave TV show in the entire world, DWTS! Wow, what a show this week, Monday's performance from all was simply superb, my vote definitely goes to Gilles, but looks like he is kinda losing his charm, I esp love the little newscast on him by the 3 stallions, calling him "Sex on a stick" (hehehe, totally rofl) and their comment on how he sheds his clothes at the drop of a hat, and then them 3 do that!  Anyways, my point is, I was completely apalled to see Lil Kim eliminated, I guess Ty himself was shocked when he learnt he was still in the competition. But we must give him credit to win votes, based solely on the fact that he's too cute! I won't be surprised if he wins the trophy.

Now that we got done talking about DWTS, I started reading Rhett Butler's People, and boy am I glad to do that, it's been on my list since forever. I'm waiting for this weekend, when I can spend more time reading while sipping on a cool margarita and getting baked tanned in the sun! Yay, it's summer and I love this season. Here are a few reasons.....
Firstly, the days are longer, that means there is so much more time to get a lot of stuff done.
Secondly, waking up in the morning is not a fight anymore (in winter, all I want to do is crawl back to bed totally undercovers!!).
Thirdly, it's the sun! I love the sun and I love the fact that I don't have to wear coats/jackets/sweaters/closed toe shoes and the winter works. I can happily go around in my capris, dresses and skirts and cottons and mainly my summer sandals and shoes.
Fourthly(am I allowed to say that?), it's back to cool drinks, and mangoes and aam panna (green mango drink which is absolutely divine!) and loads of fresh fruits and veggies, read strawberries!
Fifthly (oh boy, there I go again, am sure these are not legal words), more time at the beach and more picnics and more time outside!
Last but not the least, end of allergy season....YAY! Now I can breathe easy, and you can too coz if you've read this far then seriously either you love my writing or you have too much time on hand (can you do some of my work please?). Please tell me it's the writing, it's a win-win for you, then you can read more from moi!! haha, I like that, "more from moi"

Anyways, these are a few of my favorite things about summer, what are yours?

P.S.: I can't believe I actually formed this many sentences with almost no ideas at all. Wow, I need to get an MRI done to see how my brain actually looks like! ewww gross! this is proof enough that I can never enter the medical field. So there's my medical analysis for today.

A few words of wisdom

Life is too short, try to not make it too complicated.........
Work as if it was your first day,
Forgive as soon as possible,
Love without boundaries,
Laugh without control,
Never stop smiling.......
Even if you don't know the reason.

Yes, trust me, life can be lived this way too. Try it once and you'll know.

Letter

To the really annoying Swine Flu,

I/We have heard enough of you already. Please go away and stop affecting so many people, esp children. It is not fair that you should be so mean. I've had enough with you and it's in the best of interest for both of us if you depart as silently and lamely as you appeared. It makes no sense that you want to put your hold for this long, and trying to gain so much importance even though you are absolutely not welcome.

So, in the best interest, GO AWAY ASAP!

From,
Someone-who-wants-a-SwineFlu-free-world.

The secret life of........

What's more happening than the game itself? behind the scene action. And now with the IPL season almost halfway through, tell me atleast one person who is as eager to watch the matches as compared to the previous year? I believe there are far few. What goes on with a cricketer or the team management was always an inside thing and they have always maintained their privacy that movie celebs can't even dream of. But now the mole in the KKR team (or that's what he/she claims to be!) is exposing it all with the sensational and obvious name, FIPLP ( I haven't given the name in it's entirety coz I don't want that traffic). Everyone in the management, staff and the team are in total fear of what might be revealed that is related to them, am sure it's quite amusing to the person who is actually blogging about this, might be like a mini movie.

But as Shobha De puts it, when film personalities are prepared for the media exposure, it's time for the cricketers also to deal with the same. Afterall, Bollywood and cricket are the two most popular passtimes/fields in the Indian sub-continent.

So what I want to say is that whoever it is, I'm loving his/her writing, so are the thouands of other people. And that person has got some really innovative names for them all, I just couldn't stop smiling as I was reading through. Although, I so wish he/she wouldn't reveal their identity by the end of the tournament(as he claimed he would), I wish they would continue blogging, if not for IPL. Total tp hain yeh blog.

Do visit that blog and see for yourself what I mean by complete entertainment, it's more captivating than the game itself. Do tell me what you think of it
Additionally, let's give a huge round of applause to the wonderful world of blogging! More on that later.

Do come back to tell me your opinion.
Have a good day y'all and an even better weekend.

A tale so inspiring

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Entertainment/My-husband-threw-us-out-Neera-Chopra/articleshow/4451333.cms

Such an inspiring life! We need more such women and more such determination from us Indian women. I do hope all of us realise our true potential.
This was so moving, I had tears in my eyes. Truly deserving.

That is why I believe, that all people I come across are my teachers, my heroes, just for the fact that everyone has something new to teach me to be a stronger, better and more confident person.

Keep living life!

Please share your thoughts on this.

Dear Inventor of Nutella,

When I had my first taste of the stuff, my taste buds went on a dizzy spin. I wonder how did you get the idea to come up with something so delicious and awesomely mouth-watering that I could eat all day every day.
Spread on toast, crackers or by itself, it's just out of the world. My son and I could lick the bottle clean, coz that's how much we both love it. Talk about calories, wait, what are those? It has hazelnuts, so it's healthy and it has chocolate, good antioxidants. See, where do the calories come in? Makes absolutely no sense.
I thank you for the wonderful creation that is indeed worth living for!

Most lovingly,
a daily consumer

It is surprising how a day goes by swiftly for some and otherwise for a few more.
Isn't it amazing, how every mind works so differently, thus carving their personalities?
What is more stupefying is how these personalities shape relations, the community, the future ...in short the entire world  past, present and future.

Our actions and words form the basis of our future gens. Even long after we are gone, our characters still remain on this land.

This reminds me of the famous song. Jeena Yahan Marna Yahan. It's a lovely rendition of life and so true down to the last word. "Rahenge Yahin apne nishaan".

I was fooled!

So yesterday was April Fool's day right (hah, as if you didn't know that!) and moi was fooled once, by Gmail(only Google can fool me!! OKok enough boasting)! Yep, I thought the Auto Pilot thingy was for real, I think I was trying to add that feature for almost a half hour, then I forgot about it. But innit weird that new additions were being showcased on the Gmail homepage, when they actually update on the GMail/Google blog? How come I didn't think about it. Anyhoodle, so that was the only one time I got fooled yesterday.
It's a good thing I didn't twitter about my frustration with Auto Pilot from Gmail, else I would've looked no lesser than a fool............well, if you ask me why am I blogging about it now, wouldn't this also be similar to twittering? It would, but now that it's over and I confessed, for some lame reason its better and funnier. But doing it ignorantly would just be foolish. Yeah, some weirdo logic by me!

Tell me if you were also a victim of an April Fool's Day prank? I want to know.
